Switching from Mac or Windows is as easy as logging in. In just three simple steps, you’ll find your files and photos ready to go on your new Chromebook.

How to switch ?

Switching is as easy as 1, 2, 3. By using your Google account, you can transfer everything from your old computer in three simple steps.

Step 1

First, grab your old Mac/Windows computer and make sure you're signed in to your Chrome browser with your Google account. This way all your bookmarks, passwords and settings will be saved for the switch.

Step 2

Back up your content, Files, photos, and videos

To quickly and safely back up your files, photos, and videos, download Drive for desktop and sign in with your Google account. Then select the folders

and devices you want to upload to Drive, Photos, or both. You’ll also be able to upload your Apple Photos Library to Google Photos. If you don’t want to download Drive for desktop, you can back up your files to an external hard drive which you can later connect to your Chromebook.

Step 3

Make sure you’re using the same Google account that you used in Steps 1 and 2. You should find all your files ready and waiting when you open Google Drive.

If you used an external hard drive, connect it to your Chromebook. To start listening to your music, either download the YouTube, App, or launch Apple App and sign in with your Apple ID.
