GnuCash

GnuCash is an accounting program that implements a double-entry bookkeeping system. It was initially aimed at developing capabilities similar to Intuit, Inc.'s Quicken application,^[10] but also has features for small business accounting.^[11] Recent development has been focused on adapting to modern desktop support-library requirements.

HomeBank

HomeBank is a personal accounting software package^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5] that runs on OpenBSD, Linux, FreeBSD, Microsoft Windows, macOS (via MacPorts^[6] or Homebrew^[7]) and AmigaOS. Released under the GPL-2.0-or-later license, HomeBank is free software. HomeBank can be found in the software repositories of Linux distributions such as Debian, Fedora, Mandriva, openSUSE, Gentoo Linux, Arch Linux and Ubuntu.^[8]

KMyMoney

KMyMoney is a cross-platform double-entry bookkeeping system for personal finance management built on KDE technologies.^[2]^[3]^[4] Its operation is similar to Microsoft Money^[5] and Quicken.^[6] It supports different account types, categorization of expenses and incomes, reconciliation of bank accounts and import/export to the “QIF” file format. Through plugins, direct download using the OFX and HBCI formats is also possible. CSV imports and exports are also possible via plugins.

LedgerSMB

LedgerSMB is a free software double entry accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Accounting data is stored in a SQL database server and a standard web browser can be used as its user interface. The system uses the Perl programming language and a Perl database interface module for processing, and PostgreSQL for data storage. LedgerSMB is a client-server application, with server access through a web browser.

RCA Open Source Application

RCA Open-Source Application (ROSA) is an open-source management accounting application that aims to provide decision support information to managers. Resource consumption accounting (RCA) is a principle-based approach to management accounting that combines German management accounting techniques known as Grenzplankostenrechnung (GPK) with a disciplined form of activity-based costing.
ROSA uses resource consumption accounting (RCA) which is internationally recognized as the most robust form of cost management measurement for providing marginal cost analytics.^[1]

SQL Ledger

SQL-Ledger is an ERP and double entry accounting system. Accounting data is stored in an SQL Database Server and a standard web browser can be used as its user interface. The system uses the Perl language with a database interface module for processing and PostgreSQL for data storage which is the preferred platform. The download version also includes schemas for IBM's DB2 database server as well as Oracle.

TurboCASH

TurboCASH is an accounting software package,^[2]^{[self-published source?]} developed by a project team headed by Philip Copeman, a South African. It has been continuously developed since April 1985,^[3] and was released under the GNU General Public License in July 2003. As of version 5, the software requires an annual subscription fee.

TurboCASH is aimed at the small to medium-sized business market, placing it between a home finances package and an ERP package. Its core functions are a general ledger, posting transactions into accounts, and producing financial reports. Plugin technology enables developers to extend the system.

TurboCASH integrates through tab delimited imports and exports. Developed with Delphi, it runs natively on Windows, and a version has been released that runs under Wine for Linux.^[4] A version for CrossOver is also under development for MacOS.^[5]

Wave Accounting

Wave is a company that provides financial services and software for small businesses. Wave is headquartered in the Leslieville neighborhood in Toronto, Canada.

The company's first product was a free online accounting software designed for businesses with 1-9 employees, followed by invoicing, personal finance and receipt-scanning software (OCR).^[1] In 2012, Wave began branching into financial services, initially with Payments by Wave (credit card processing) and Payroll by Wave, followed by Lending by Wave^[2] in February 2017 which has since been discontinued.
