CREATING A DIY 88-108 MHZ FM TRAP - One of the most problematic strong signals you can encounter is regular 88 – 108 MHz broadcast FM stations. They transmit at high power and can cause overloading  and intermodulation problems on simple receivers such as the RTL-SDR. This means that FM stations can prevent you from receiving signals even when you are tuned  far away from the broadcast band.

The simplest solution to reducing strong FM stations is to build an FM trap. This is simply a band stop filter that blocks frequencies between 88 – 108 MHz from  entering your radio. 


A broadcast FM block filter can help if you have very strong broadcasts in your area that are overloading the SDR dongle. 
Also known as “FM Trap”.This Broadcast FM Block Band-Stop Filter can blocks all signals between 88 - 108 MHz. 
Great for use with FOXWEY RTL-SDR or other SDR dongles. Prevents overload due to very strong broadcast FM signals.  

About 50dB attenuation over the stop band, and less than 1dB insertion loss over most pass frequencies.
The filter comes in a 2.8 cm x 2.8 cm x 1.3 cm with two female SMA jack, and there is no aluminum enclosure for this listing. 
Blocks the broadcast FM band between 88 – 108 MHz with over 50dB of attenuation. Designed for RX use only.

Designed for maximum attenuation between 88 - 108 MHz and the 3dB roll off points are at 76 MHz and 122 MHz.
Insertion loss is less than 0.5 dB between 0 – 1 GHz, and mostly less than 1.5 dB between 1 – 3 GHz.
Designed for SDR and radio scanner users. TV installers this is probably not the right product for you. 
TV installers please read the description carefully to avoid disappointment.
